Gridiron Home Expands Board Leadership to Support Nonprofit Growth and Governance Initiatives
New officers and board members strengthen organizational capacity for youth sports programs in Southwest Pennsylvania
Gridiron Home, Inc., a Tarentum-based youth sports nonprofit, has announced new board leadership appointments and the addition of four directors as part of a broader effort to strengthen governance and support continued organizational growth. The nonprofit leadership expansion reflects a strategic focus on operational capacity, long-term planning, and sustainable impact across Southwest Pennsylvania.
The organization elected Linda Jo Thornberg as vice president and Mariah Scribe as secretary, while welcoming Tim Landis, Christopher Gabriel, Kristin Hamilton, and Kendra Hull to its board of directors. The expanded leadership team comes at a time when youth sports nonprofits and community-based organizations are prioritizing governance, accountability, and infrastructure to meet rising demand for accessible programming and mentorship.
As Gridiron Home continues to grow its footprint across Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, the leadership changes are designed to enhance board oversight, improve administrative processes, and support mission-driven decision-making. The organization provides free youth sports programming focused on athletics, mentorship, leadership development, and wellness—an area gaining increased attention amid national conversations around youth mental health and community-based development.
Thornberg brings leadership experience and board-level insight to her role as vice president, where she will help guide strategic planning and organizational development. Scribe will oversee governance documentation and board communications as secretary, reinforcing internal systems that support transparency and accountability.
The addition of Landis, Gabriel, Hamilton, and Hull further strengthens Gridiron Home’s leadership bench during a period when nonprofit organizations are investing in stronger governance structures to sustain growth and expand community impact. Their combined perspectives are expected to support long-range planning and help the organization scale its youth development programs effectively.
