Gridiron Home, Inc. Launches Second Year of Free Youth Sports Program in Southwest Pennsylvania
Nonprofit youth sports organization expands free youth sports program in Pennsylvania, serving more than 80 children

Gridiron Home, Inc., a Tarentum-based nonprofit youth sports organization, is launching its second year of free youth sports programming for children across Southwest Pennsylvania, expanding access to sports training, leadership development, and wellness education for youth ages 6–15.
The free youth sports program in Pennsylvania begins its first session on March 14, 2026, and will run through May 23, 2026, with bi-weekly programming designed to support children and families in Allegheny, Westmoreland, and surrounding counties. The community youth sports program combines football training for youth with mentorship, leadership development, and wellness education—removing financial barriers that often prevent children from participating in organized athletics.
Founded to provide free sports training for kids and mentorship through sports, Gridiron Home, Inc. served more than 50 children during its inaugural year. The nonprofit youth sports organization now expects to support more than 80 youth participants during the upcoming season as demand for accessible programming continues to grow in Western Pennsylvania.
The youth development program focuses on athletic fundamentals, teamwork, emotional wellness, and character development for youth athletes. In addition to sports training, participants engage in structured leadership activities and mentorship opportunities designed to build confidence, discipline, and positive life skills.
As part of its commitment to youth wellness in Pennsylvania, Gridiron Home also organizes enrichment experiences that extend beyond the field. Recent initiatives include a Wellness Day hosted in partnership with TKD Ameris and a sponsored educational field trip to the Laborers Training Center, giving children exposure to new experiences and career pathways.
“Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, compete, and learn important life lessons through sports, regardless of their family’s financial situation,” said Rob Hamilton, founder of Gridiron Home, Inc. “Our mission is to remove barriers and create a place where kids can build leadership, confidence, and character while developing their athletic abilities.”
The organization’s community-based youth program continues to attract families from throughout Southwest Pennsylvania who are seeking structured, positive environments for children to stay active, build friendships, and learn teamwork through sports mentorship.
“Programs like this bring kids together and give them a place where they can grow not only as athletes but as individuals,” said Tim Landis, board member and coach for Gridiron Home, Inc. “When young people learn teamwork, discipline, and respect through sports, those lessons stay with them long after the game ends.”
Families across Southwest Pennsylvania continue to seek opportunities for structured youth activities that promote physical activity, teamwork, and personal development. While registration for the current season is now closed, families and community members can still learn more about the program, upcoming opportunities, and ways to support the organization’s mission by visiting www.gridironhome.org.
